Takoma Park

Trek Through Takoma Park
Takoma Park is a small city in Montgomery County, Maryland. And, while it may be on the littler side, it’s super close to Washington, D.C. Thus, you’ll never long for anything to do or for something new to see. Plus, believe it or not, even tiny Takoma Park has a few surprises all its own.
The Takoma Avenue Historic District
If you like history, older architecture, or, even better yet, both, be sure to take a stroll through the Takoma Avenue Historic district. There, you’ll be able to view important homes designed back in 1951. Taking photos is allowed and even encouraged, so you can get some great photos as you explore.
The Takoma Park Farmers’ Market
For fresh fruits and veggies that taste more delicious than anything you’ll get at the supermarket, visit the Takoma Park Farmers’ market. Unlike most farmers’ markets in the area, it’s not seasonal. It’s open all year round, which means you can enjoy its local products all year long too, including homemade jams, jellies, and more. For anyone trying to eat healthier and to learn more about the food they eat and where it comes from, the farmers’ market is the perfect solution. Plus, it’s also just a really fun place to browse and sample.
The Takoma Park Folk Festival
Come at the right time, and you might just get to take part in the Takoma Park Folk Festival. This free festival celebrates local music and usually features several different stages to showcase different performers. Aside from great music, there are activities for the kids, arts and crafts shows, and so much more.
Takoma Park is small but definitely mighty. So, don’t discount it as you plan your trip to D.C. or just your latest adventure. It’s got plenty of fun in store!
