Penn Quarter

What’s Poppin’ in Penn Quarter?
Penn Quarter is a great little spot in Washington, D.C. that’s home to anything and everything a person could want. Whether you’re into spending time in sports bars, shopping, scoping out museums, or anything in between, Penn Quarter truly has it all!
Daikaya Ramen Shop
If you’ve only ever had ramen in those cheap little packages from the grocery store, run—don’t walk—to Daikaya Ramen Shop. Here, you’ll find authentic ramen and so much more. Just be aware that there’s usually a well-deserved waitlist for this great restaurant, so make your reservations early.
Capital One Arena
Are you a sports fan? If so, be sure to take in a game at Capital One arena, where the Washington Capitals play regularly. Of course, you don’t have to be a sports fan to enjoy the venue. It also hosts concerts, comedians, and more.
Ford’s Theatre
Another great, historic spot to check out while you’re in the area is Ford’s Theatre. Not only does it still function as a real theatre with live productions, but it also has its own artifact collection and many exhibits that pay homage to the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln, who was assassinated there.
Newseum
Love to learn? Like to keep your finger on the pulse of what’s “new” and “hot?” If so, head on over to Newseum, a cool Penn Quarter museum that’s focused on the history of the news. One of the best exhibits, out of many, is the Pulitzer Prize Photographs Gallery. Be sure to check out at least this exhibit, but, ideally, the whole museum. It’s the kind of place you could spend hours!
Penn Quarter is a fascinating place to visit. Whether you’re a history buff, a foodie, or just someone looking to see everything that D.C, has to offer, this is one place you shouldn’t skip!
