Have some Fun in Fairfax Station
When compared to nearby Washington, D.C., Fairfax Station may look a bit small and unimpressive. But,then again, anything would. Plus, that’s just at first glance. If you take a closer look, you’ll quickly discover that there’s more to Fairfax Station than meets the eye . . . and that it can be a whole lot more exciting than you may have initially thought!
Top of the Town
Right nearby, you’ll find Top of the Town, an incredible venue that plays host to all kinds of events. From wedding receptions to company conferences, many things take place here, and it’s easy to see why. Not only is it a gorgeous place, but it offers some truly spectacular views. You can take in breathtaking views of the Potomac and of some of D.C.’s most prolific landmarks, making it a must-visit locale even if you don’t have an event to attend!
If you really want to have an adventure, then look no further than Penguin Paddling. No, you won’t see any penguins, but you can still have some serious fun! Rent a paddleboard or kayak and then take a tour that will offer up some beautiful views you’ll never forget and that you won’t find anywhere else.
Burke Lake Park
Another fun way to get out in nature in this area is to head to Burke Lake Park. It’s a dog-friendly park too, so you can even bring your furry friend! Just keep him or her on a leash at all times. Of course, if you leave Fido at home, you can rent a boat and go out onto the water. There are also biking and walking trails, as well as plenty of quiet places to just sit and take in the view.
It’s so easy to overlook Fairfax Station and other small areas like it. However, the next time you’re tempted to do so, don’t! Just consider all that Fairfax Station has to offer—and this is just some of it! If you never explore, you’re sure to miss out!
